running around like crazy

It's a hectic couple of days, starting the process of moving is hard after being anchored in place for 3 years. And this move is planned to not be complete for nearly 2 more months! Now I have a weekend trip to my dad's. When I get back it will be the string freeze in d-i, maybe I will have a little spare time during that, and then the push for the next release.

I learned on Wednesday that my laptop's CD drive can survive being covered in water for hours. This is a nice ability, but not one I want to try again.

I haven't talked about what I'm reading lately, mostly because I haven't been much. I went back and read some very early Mercedes Lackey, which is very strange to revisit. Now I'm reading various things by Norman Spinrad, who I also haven't read in a long long time, but who I enjoy much more -- he has a way with words. I tried a few of the Hugo nominees, but I could not get into them, probably due to lack of concentration.
