security followup

Norbert: It seems to me that you're now comparing how well sarge's security updates are doing with those of stable and ubuntu. I've never found such comparisons worth the electrons they were printed on. Sarge's security support can certianly be improved (this statement holds true for all other security support too). Help wanted.

IMHO to an extent the important thing is that there be a committement. For example, ubuntu has made a commitment to doing security updates; I don't give much heed to the current emptiness of their Packages file compared to that committment. If they had no commitment to security updates and more updates in their Packages file, would you be happier?
