I took the train from Charlottesville to New York on Saturday. With this year's DebConf in the USA, I finally have a chance to experience the conference from a local perspective, without jetlag, or a language barrier. I'm still working on that. Part of me thinks I am in a foreign country here. :)

Actually, the neighboorhood around Columbia University is one I have ties to. Here is my Mom's old apartment, a few short blocks from the main DebConf venue.

And here is family friend Ruth Shereff's memorial garden in the Broadway median.

DebConf has been outstanding, and very exhausting. Lars and I have been spending a lot of time here putting the final touches on something to be announced soon.
