CentralScrutinizer: good grief :-) Well, you've dug me out of the woodwork, and now I'm gonna ramble.
It's been a really stressful month or so, starting with linuxworld. I waited too long to look for a new place (I have to move as my employer is moving, and I refuse to buy a car and join the commuter rat race). So after linuxworld, I got started on that. I've finally signed my new lease today, 3 days before the first day at the new office. Whew!
Other streess-making things include finding out I have abcessed wisdom teeth, family issues that almost had me flying to the east coast on 1 day's notice, a missing cat, and a deadline. All now behind me (save having the dratted teeth pulled). Now I just have to worry about moving. Joy.
Anyway, Hayward is a reasonably nice place given how far south it is down the Bay. Looking forward to being near BART again, and leaving this apartment behind for a real house. This may be the last time I move in the Bay Area. Either I'll stay there for years or I'll leave; the horrific process of finding a decent place to live here is just not worth it. Maybe I'll change my mind in a year though.
I have managed to get some real work done this month. Somehow I found time to do some solid thinking about the design for Debian's new installer that I'd been playing with since the spring, and I got all the pieces to fit together. I think it's really gonna work.
