Spent last night halfway up Holston Mountain in what I call Bear Meadow, since I saw a bear the first time I was there.

I haven't been backpacking or otherwise rough camping in years.

Random tech note: Last time I backpacked, a GPS was fairly new tech and IIRC rather big and bulky in its own device. This time, GPS and camera ability were a given; even my flashlight was just another program to run; and when I used it I had to turn off the network to stay away from it all.
