d-i playing nice

Now after I install with d-i, I get a nice grub boot menu that includes my newly installed system, plus freedos, plus menu items for other versions of linux installed on the machine. We're working on adding complete support for lilo, and I think yaboot (and macos) too. Already it's very nice.

Have any linux distributions done this before for anything but windows? If so, I'd still like to see if I can find some useful code in them. If not, well, the code is now available, and not at all Debian specific.
