debconf5
I find myself unable to write any kind of wrapup or overview of my time in Finland for DebConf5. It was awesome, it went on so long that I became used to the weirdness of having everyone right there in person, and living on campus again, just like I became used to the midnight sun.
And that's really all I can say, so I'll just end with a few teriffic resources from the conference:
- annotated group photo -- finally I can figure out who everyone is for sure, even the ones like me who didn't wear badges and assumed people knew who they were.
- talk video archive -- days of near-professional-quality video of all the talks. So I didn't miss AJ's talk on debbugs, or the very informative derivers panel, or any of the gigabyte of other talks I have queued to watch sometime. And eventually I may even be able to watch my own talk (and my shared talk) and learn something from it.
- lots of photos from DebConf5 -- why I don't bother buying a digital camera of my own. With more still to come.
- And hey, LWN wrote an article on my talk!
Can't wait until next May!
PS, try as it might, the weather here in the South hasn't quite managed to recreate the atmosphere of a proper Finnish sauna, and I already miss them dreadfully.
