gearing up
The 2.6 support is now available on the d-i netinst CDs, and tomorrow's images will even install 2.6 onto the system. Besides working on that today, I checked to make sure that d-i can still install in lowmem mode on systems with 32 mb of memory), tried to get it autobuilding again on the many arches that broke recently (sigh), put together a release issues and check list, worked around partman/cdebconf's issue with indentation in the partition list, etc. Gearing up toward the next release.
Unfortunatly, we have a real situation with discover in testing, that may hold up the release if it's not resolved, and also a file conflict between glibc and initscripts that's breaking installs on ia64 and alpha at the moment. Also, the newest 2.6 kernel in testing is 2.6.3, which does not run well on my hardware. (Not that 2.6 generally runs well on my hardware. Why am I wasting my time with it, again?) It would be interesting if we got the installer releasable before testing was itself releasable, but I hope not.
Reading apocalpyse 12, which, 10% in, seems more obvious and less wild than earlier masterpieces such as the regex one.
