I've turned off the ringer on my phone, so if someone I know (as opposed to some phone marketer, or friend-of-previous-resident) is the person who's tried to call me all evening, you're SOL. Permanently. Yes, I know you expected me to pick up the phone rather than ignore it as it rang, and rang, and rang, and then finally turn off the ringer, but that indicates to me that you don't know me, because if you did you'd have emailed me first. All my friends and family know to email me first. So you don't know me, or you're ignoring my express wishes, and so I don't care to talk to you. I can be such a bastard sometimes, but oh well.

This reminds me, I've pretty well decided to switch to an internet phone, just to save money, make it harder to call me, and give me an excuse to end conversations early ("gotta go, this phone call is eating all my upload capacity"), and the only decision left to make really is what area code it should be in. Pity they don't offer 1-900 numbers.
