What about something to monitor traffic? Say MAC address...

When I was using a user-mode-linux based hosting company, I would often have performance issues which were rumoured to be caused by gentoo users on the same host rebuilding everything (despite the fact the ISP provided build farms for this purpose..). I wonder if you could modulate a signal in bursts of "emerge world" or similar. I suppose something like xen, which partitions the CPU more efficiently (or does it?) would make this impossible. -- Jon Dowland
